Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 371 12/31/08 Lawrence Cutler Yasmer DDS 9/28/46 - 12/31/98 Today is a day to honor the memory of my brother...It has been 10 years, but hardly a day goes by that I don't think of him and miss him. Healthy and Happy New Year to all of you, my dear SmugMug friends.
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 370 12/30/08 Is that house realllllllllly haunttteedddd????? The photo I posted yesterday was in an area behind our condos where they set up a haunted house ride ever year. Walking back there with Euge and Gunnar was the first time I had ever gone through the trees and actually seen it ( we hear it nightly for weeks before Halloween) Anyway, I was telling them about where we were walking to and didn't realize the effect of what I was saying until I looked at Gunnar's face when saw the first house ( false fronts, like a movie set) and decided he was not going to go further. We got him to go by explaining the other houses were 'happy houses'....it was like a Hollywood backlot. This shot was very soft, But I liked it Here is the link to the gallery of the rest of our time together.
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 371 12/29/08 Eugenia and Gunnar again...this time we were "playing photographer and models".... Actually, I had an amazing find with Euge and Gunnar last night. After a day of being out an about in Philly we came back late afternoon as the sun was starting to go down. Just behind where I live there is a path to a Halloween 'Haunted House' set..actually a sort of path with fake house and store fronts. Anyway with the light of late afternoon I started taking pictures and we ended up with some amazing shots, if I say so myself. Then add in the sunset...it was very exciting. I am starting to put together a whole gallery for Euge and will get it done this week but she sat with me as we culled out the worthy shots and we were both pretty excited. This was one of my favorites!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 370 12/28/08 One of the best holiday gifts I got this year! Yes, that is OUR Shelly!!! She and Mike are on a whirlwind quick trip to NYC and we arranged a quick meet-up...We were in the city walking around seeing lots of the Christmas lights and sights with Eugenia and her son Gunnar who are visiting...but made arrangements to meet with Shelly and Mike right after their arrival at their hotel. It as a bit too brief, but I am glad to have even the 15 minutes or so we had. She is a wonderful, vivacious and lovely as you all must imagine her to be! Next time, Houston!!!! Again, we are very busy with our guests so forgive me for not taking time to comment these days while they are here!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 369...12/27/08 Our guests for the weekend.. We made a stop at a park for little Gunnar to have some fun. It was a nice afternoon light so a good time for me to take some pictures. Interesting to keep a 4 year old entertained, but fun. He has his own rules for Candyland!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 368 (part 2) 12/26/08 Another outing with my mother-in-law.( She was 91 in October, by the way...she is extremely hesitant to tell her age, but I think she should be quite proud of it..she is blessed with good health and agility which is something quite wonderful) While Steve went to get the car I took a moment to catch a photo...we had an outing in the afternoon to see the new Clint Eastwood movie, "Grand Torino"...worth seeing! We have guests arriving this morning for a few days, so my time on the computer will be quite limited...I'll be on when I can though! Happy New Year, just in case!!!! *** Note to John...decided to change my photo of the day, I had forgotten I had taken this one yesterday so posted it in addition to the cat! Thanks for your comment!
Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 368 (part 1) 12/26/08 A little kitty cat in the window lookin' out at us in Center City. We don't have any pets now, so I always enjoy the opportunity when it arises. She was pretty steady in watching us so I could take my time! We have guests arriving this morning for a few days, so I am not sure how much I will be online, so just in case...HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Hillary Yasmer Shemin > Post 366 12/24/08 SEBASTIAN A baby seems to be an appropriate subject as I start my second year's worth of photos. This is Sebastian and he is 7 months old. He was so sweet and smiley while waiting for Dad to get his teeth cleaned yesterday. When the dentist came in to do his exam I shirked my hygiene duties and whipped out my 40D for my obligation to my photography obsession..fortunately neither Dad nor Dr. minded so here is a pic of beautiful Sebastian! ***THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR WONDERFUL COMMENTS AND GOOD WISHES ON YESTERDAYS 365TH POST! I WISH I COULD THANK EACH OF YOU PERSONALLY, BUT IT IS SO HARD THESE DAYS TO GET IN ALL THE COMMENTS AND RESPONSES I WANT, SO PLEASE ACCEPT MY APPRECIATION THIS WAY. THIS GROUP IS SO GREAT!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!
