Post 174 - 5/27/08 - TED Tonight Steve invited me to go for a walk after dinner...I have been terribly lazy about any exercise lately so appreciated the extra kick to get out, though tired after a work day. The best incentive besides our time together was that maybe I would find my picture of the day. Well, here it is! This is Ted...he is a Golden Retriever mix..and very, very sweet. It was late and the light was low so the pictures tended to be rather grainy and soft, but I like this one with the sepia treatment. What do you think? I loved Ceejanerun's photo yesterday of that handsome dog and I guess it inspired me to catch this shot of this great pup!!! The original is here: TED
Post 173 - 5/26/08 Unrelenting wind at the Jersey Shore Well, today we went back to the beach and it was quite different scene from yesterday. The wind just didn't stop and though it was supposed to be a few degrees warmer, it didn't feel like it. I read a little and stayed in my jeans and jippered sweat jacket. Then I decided the wind and blowing sand was too much and pulled the jacket up over my face and zippered it up so only my red frizzy curls were exposed to the wind...I actually fell asleep for a little like that. Crazy. We didn't stay as long as we usually do, but I did try to take a few shots before we left. Didn't want to take out the SLR so used the G9 this time. This shot was not very sharp, but gave an idea of the wind...you can see the series of blue umbrellas set up as wind breakers for each of the lifeguard stands down the shoreline. All in all it was a very nice weekend... I hope yours was too! Steve liked this shot better to show off the force of the wind. Post 172 - 5/25/08 A day at the Beach I had thought I was going to post another shot from our NYC trip yesterday, but since we were at the Jersey shore today I decided to go with this one. I was playing with camera settings and then a little with Picasa when I got home so I am not sure exactly how I got this effect, but I liked it. It's a little different style for me. So I will save the New York shots for their own gallery. Have a safe and fun Memorial Day tomorrow...!
