Post 257 10/11/08 Not a great photo, but an interesting photo.... This is a typical residential scene in Montreal. We were in the 'Little Italy' neighborhood and this shot shows the stairs that you see all over the city leading up to second story apartments and businesses, too. You can see the mail carrier in the upper left. Can you imagine what great shape she is in having to walk up an down stairs to deliver mail to each of these front doors???? She had saddlebags of mail over each shoulder and I did speak to her...Offered my empathy for what I felt was one of the hardest jobs in the city! She appreciated my comment! Thank you all so much for your wonderful comments on yesterday's mural. I love those kinds of graphic art in many big cities..that combined a human face which I particulary liked! You guys are too kind, but I thank you very much!!!
Post 256 10/10/08 A mural on a wall we saw while walking around Montreal yesterday. The city is really wonderful. So much energy and activity...guess I really am starved for this city stuff since we live in a more suburban area. I love cities and all that there is to do and see....Have a good day!
Post 255 10/09/08 A Quick shot as we drove away from Saratoga Springs, New York on our way to Montreal. We stayed near the interstate, but took a quick drive around the old city before continuing on our way. Beautiful, beautiful place. We will come back someday to see more of it. I just shot this out the front window of the car as we were waiting for the light...Loved the flowers and the colors and lines of the house. Will post in the morning something from today walking around Montreal or the drive up here. I haven't even really looked at the pics yet. Great weather and gorgeous fall colors. Very lucky timing for us... I wanted to add, if you would like to see some shots of Saratoga Springs, there are some wonderful ones in InOurTime's gallery, here: http://inourtime.smugmug.com/gallery/4967724_wuTdG#297394916_v4qRU
