Post 167- 5/19/08 Tonight we were supposed to have a fire drill in our condominium development. Everybody was supposed to be outside at 6:30 for them to test alarms, elevators, etc. Apparently there was some confusion and in the end it was called off. We were already outside in the unseasonably chilly air at least I was. Steve practiced an act of civil disobedience and went back in after 15 mintues. Anyway, at least there was a neat fire engine to take some pictures of. This shot is of the hoses in case you didn't realize it. That's my story tonight. Nothing too spectacular. My back has been bothering me a little the last couple of days, so I am a little crabby...sorry. Thanks to all of you who liked my shot of the woods out back...I guess that was one of those views that I am sorta used to and didn't think it would be that interesting to anyone. Thanks, too, to dream hat for your offer to help walk me through layers. I will be in touch!
Post 166 - 5/18/08 - As night falls... Nothing special to post to day. This was just a shot I took from our balcony toward the woods behind where we live. I used the tripod and took a few shots playing with time and dof. This was the one I liked best. I thought maybe I would try to do some sort of layering thing in PS Elements, but couldn't figure out how to actually do layers. I guess I should read the book...I am feeling frustrated, but I wanted to get in a shot today. Tomorrow is Monday, a new day, a new week, maybe there will be something more interesting to come along.
Post 165 5/17/08 --We just loved this movie!!! This is a shot of the poster outside the theater. We were going to go to NYC today, but got sort of a late start and with the price of gas, parking, tolls, and everything else in a trip to New York we opted to see a movie in Center City Philadelphia instead. What a lucky decision. If you get a chance to see this wonderful movie, I highly recommend it. We both felt it was one of the best movies we had ever seen. Young at Heart ---remember that title!!!
