January 13th, 2008 - I am in love!!! The long awaited first picture from my Canon 40D. I chose this 'cause I knew the color would be somewhat eye catching and I am enjoying the attention you have all given me on this. I took a couple pics when I first got up this morning, then we went for a walk and took some more. The camera is just great to use. I have always loved cameras and this one just feels so good in your hands. The camera is so solid and quiet compared to my RebelXT - Shelly had likend her RebelXT to an old truck or something like that... very true. There is going to be a lot to learn, but I am going to have fun, fun, fun with this baby!!! I will set up a gallery for the 40D to put up some of the other shots today. All are as taken. No cropping or editing from what I took today. Thank you all so very, very much for your encouragement and support. I feel I have grown so much in my photography, just in the short time I have been in this group. I really look forward to more and more... Thanks again...SmugMugHug to you all!!! Here is the link to the other photos. I didn't put them all in, just a sampling of some of the photos I shot today. http://cleantth.smugmug.com/gallery/4161902#243016307
January 12th, 2008 - We had a delightful afternoon with our son Andrew's girlfriend, Nini! She has been visiting her family in Paris for a few weeks and is back for her next semester of school. I took this picture, then afterward noticed the checkerboard pattern of the walls behind her and thought that was interesting.
January 11, 2008 - "It's My Party and I'll __________________" Can you fill in the rest of the lyrics? If you are a baby boomer you can. Check out who Steve got to meet tonight. We saw Lesley Gore ( Teen Queen of the mid sixties) in concert and it was great fun...Steve was as excited as if he were back in high school. He has already e-mailed this picture to many of his high school buddies. tonight. No, I have still not shot my 40D....This was an important night for photography so I didn't want to take a chance with the new camera...Old trusty RebelXT was with us instead. I got busy today and tomorrow we are driving into New York City to see my son. I am making a committment that no matter how lame it may be, I will post a 'pic of the day' on Sunday from the new camera! Thanks again, everyone for all your wonderful congratulations and encouragement with the new camera.
