Post 683 6.8.10 Just a drop in the bucket of the 5,400+ pictures I took last Saturday at the Independence Dragon Boat Regatta in Philadelphia on the Skuylkill River. I am so drowning in culling and light editing ( believe me I can't do more than light edits with this amount of images)...I can't believe it! I shot from 7 am until almost 6 pm with hardly a break...It was great fun...my body hurt and I was exhausted at the end of the day, but the excitement of meeting so many people and wearing a media pass that allowed me to go where I wanted was just exhilarating.... Back at my 'day job' on MOnday and now to find a way to finish the job! Wish me luck...
Post 682 6.5.10 An interesting fellow we encountered in Ajijic, Mexico. This gentleman has lived in Ajijic, Mexico for a number of years. He is originally from Canada... There are over 30,000 N. American ( US and Canadian) who live in this town and the town of Chapala near Lake Chapala.. I will post more pics soon...I still have to sort and edit. On top of the Mexico trip photos I spent the whole day yesterday... Really, 11 hours of almost constant shooting and a total of 5,494 images to sort through of the Philadelphia Independence Dragon Boat Races....Oh my...this was incredible..I am overwhelmed as you can imagine. Sooo, I will try to keep up with posting daily, but I will not be taking any more pictures for awhile until I get this under control.. What an incredible opportunity... Wearing a Media Pass is a lot of fun!!! :)
Post 691 6.4.10 Guess who wanted to try the coconut 'milk'??? This was the way he offered the drink to us...Machete off the top...poke a hole, insert straw....drink! It was very pleasant...not sweet, but slightly coconut in flavor..it was fun! The excitement of this shot was that I handed over my camera to a young man who was chatting with us a little there...never totally sure I should do that, but he took the picture and not my camera. That can be a dodgy situation when traveling, but it was fine in the end! Thank you all for such enthusiastic comments on my pics so far from the trip..it has been a busy week and I have still not only not seen all of my pictures, I haven't uploaded them all...Tomorrow I have a very wonderful opportunity to shoot Dragon Boat Racing in Philadelphia...It will be ALL Day sooooo I don't know how many more images that will mean on the boards for me to process. All fun, though, that is for sure! Photo credit to the unnamed young man peeking behind the head of the young boy drinking from a plastic bag in yesterday's shot! He caught us well, I thought!
