Glessner Life Celebration
DOROTHY GLESSNER -May 9, 1913 - May 25, 2010
Life Celebration Event.
Dorothy Glessner was a woman who lived a life of purpose. Her 97 years were rich in learning, creativity, fighting and writing for social justice and sharing her life with others. July 11, 2010 was a wonderful Life Celebration event at Tamenend Park in Southampton, PA in her honor...The Carriage House was filled with friends of Dorothy and of her daughter Deborah Glessner (Larkphoto) honoring Dorothy and the life of grace that she lived. Dorothy once wrote, "To give of one's self is the gift of grace....". She obviously gave of herself to many of these people as shown by the outpouring of love that flowed through this lovely gathering of people who came to honor her.
This gallery is a memento of the afternoon and I hope you will view and enjoy the photos and remember the poems, the songs sung, the stories told and the importance of celebrating people who are important to us and celebrating the importance each day in our own lives.
The photos are available for purchase and for each photo purchased by September 1st I will donate $1 to Deborah Glessner's: 'Nor'wester Readers Canine Assisted Learning Program'.
I hope you will enjoy the photos..it was a pleasure meeting you all and participating in the celebration of Dorothy Glessner's life. I tried to capture the events of the day and the love and moods of all who came to share in it. Please feel free to leave comments here to let Deb and I know you came by for a visit!
